When is the best time to invest in your team’s well-being?

Do you wait until things get so bad that your team are burnt out, signing off sick or not able to focus on their jobs?

Or do you keep an eye on how they are coping and support them when they are under pressure, managing big projects or coming up to a big deadline?

The answer is always - the best time is NOW.

The best time to invest in well-being is when you are reaching out to support your team’s well-being when you know they are under pressure (let’s face it - aren’t business teams always under pressure/ facing the next challenge/ coming up to a deadline?)

The best way is to be proactive in offering this support, not waiting until it gets so bad that it’s hard to recover from. Both on a personal and business level.

There used to be a time when I worked in events that July / August was a little quieter and people could take their holidays/ get their admin done and we could prep for a busy Autumn season. In recent years that has gone out of the window! Now it’s busy all year round and I think all businesses are facing this.

It’s not about waiting until things are good...calm or quiet but instead investing in their mental health now so that when things get busier...more stressful...more uncertain they have the tools to cope.

Don’t wait until people are coming out of lockdown feeling burnt out and frazzled- support them to go into the next phase of changes feeling stronger and more resilient than ever.

If you know your team are working hard and up against it, then now is the right time to support their well-being and give them the tools to cope.
